Government fleets answer to taxpayers and to a bid sheet, not a marketing budget. A squad car, a plow truck, a park district van and a fire engine all have to look like they belong to the same agency, survive years of road salt and plow seasons, and get done inside a procurement schedule. We wrap, letter and reflective-stripe municipal and first-responder fleets across Chicago and the collar counties. Owner-installed, every vehicle, no broker and no subcontractor.
Chicago Fleet Wraps has run vehicle graphics for 25 years and 19,400+ vehicles. Same hands, same cast-vinyl standard, same zero verified paint-damage record – now aimed at the fleets that carry a badge or a village seal.
Fleets We Outfit

If it carries a department name, we mark it.
- Police & sheriff. Reflective door graphics, unit numbering, slick-top and marked-unit packages, ghost graphics, and design refreshes for departments modernizing their look.
- Fire & EMS. Reflective striping, NFPA-style rear chevrons, department identity, apparatus numbering, and printed gold-leaf-effect lettering when a department wants the traditional look without the cost of real leaf.
- Public works & fleet. Village logos, department lettering and asset numbering on plows, dump trucks, pickups and utility bodies.
- Park district. Branded vans, shuttles and maintenance vehicles that match district identity across the whole fleet.
- Code enforcement, animal control & inspectors. Clean, consistent identification so residents know an official vehicle on sight.
Reflectivity & Compliance

On emergency and public-works vehicles, reflectivity and longevity matter more than flash. The graphics have to read at night and hold up for the better part of a decade, because a re-wrap every three seasons is a line item a village board notices.
- Rear chevrons. ASTM D4956 reflective sheeting, including 3M Diamond Grade where a department wants maximum retroreflectivity, laid out to NFPA 1901 guidance for apparatus.
- Reflective striping & markings. 3M Scotchlite and comparable flat reflective films for belt lines, door-edge markers and perimeter highlights that show from multiple angles.
- Gold-leaf-effect lettering. Printed reflective gold for fire and ceremonial apparatus – the look departments expect, engineered to last.
We spec the reflective standard to your requirement and put it in writing on the quote, so what you bid is what gets installed.
Materials & Durability

We install one grade of material: cast vinyl from Avery Dennison (MPI 1105 with overlaminate) and 3M (IJ280 with 8518). No calendared film, no shortcut stock that fails by the next plow season.
- Printed department lettering and decals rated 7 years outdoor – regularly longer in service.
- Diamond Grade reflective chevrons hold retroreflective performance well past a decade.
- Full color-change apparatus wraps run 5–7 years depending on use and wash routine.
- Zero verified paint-damage claims in 25 years. Cast vinyl protects factory paint and removes clean at end of life.
Built for Government Procurement

The graphics are the easy part. Working inside a purchasing process is where most sign shops fall down. We don't.
- Bid-spec quoting. We quote from your specification with materials and labor broken out as separate lines, ready to drop into a PO.
- NET-30 government terms. Available for municipal and government accounts.
- Fleet-wide asset numbering. Sequential unit numbers handled across the whole fleet, tracked to vehicle.
- Artwork on file. Your design files stay on record. Add a vehicle in two years and it matches the rest without starting over.
- Damage replacement. A panel gets hit, we reprint from file and schedule around your routes – often the same week.
How a Municipal Project Runs
- Assessment. We inventory the fleet – makes, models, body styles – and confirm the reflective and compliance standard you need.
- Design proof. You get a mockup on your exact vehicle templates. Revisions until it's signed off. Nothing prints before approval.
- Production. Printed and cut in-house on cast vinyl, staged so vehicle downtime stays minimal.
- Install. Owner-installed at your yard or our Chicago shop, scheduled around your routes so units stay in service.
Why Chicago Fleet Wraps

One point of contact who also does the install. No broker marking up a subcontractor you never meet. The person who quotes your fleet is the person who letters it. That's how a 12-truck public-works package or a 30-unit patrol fleet comes out consistent, on spec, and on schedule.
Service Area
We outfit municipal and first-responder fleets across Cook, DuPage, Will, Kane and Lake counties – Chicago, the North Shore, the western suburbs and the south suburbs. From our shop at 4711 N Lamon Ave we reach departments across the metro.
