What Counts as an Event Wrap
Anything branded for a defined run: sampling and street-team vehicles for a product launch, sponsor fleets running Lollapalooza or Riot Fest weekend, tour and promo vehicles following a concert or sports calendar through Chicago, NASCAR Chicago Street Race weekend activations, pop-up and food sampling trailers, and seasonal marketing campaigns where the creative changes quarterly. We also produce the ground game around the vehicle: barricade covers, tent and canopy graphics, window splashes, and wall wraps for the pop-up itself.
One vehicle for one weekend, or a 20-unit sponsor fleet for a summer — same crew that runs fleet wraps in Chicago year-round, so agency deadlines don't scare anybody here.
The Short-Term Difference: Films Built to Leave
A permanent fleet wrap is engineered to survive seven Chicago winters. An event wrap is engineered for the opposite exit: removable cast vinyl with low-tack adhesive systems rated for 30–180 day campaigns, laminated for festival abuse, and pulled clean at the end — no adhesive ghosting, no paint pull, no rental-return panic. Leased vehicles, rentals, and employee cars are all fair game because the film is chosen for the exit, not just the entrance.
De-wrap is scheduled when the wrap is: install date and removal date on one work order, so the campaign ends on the calendar instead of dragging on a bumper for six months. Need the same vans rebranded for the next activation? We store the measurements and turn the refit in days.
Built Around the Chicago Event Calendar
Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Pitchfork, Sueños, the Air & Water Show, the Chicago Marathon, NASCAR street race weekend, Cubs and Sox home stands, and every festival block Chicagoland runs from May to October: activation season here is compressed and unforgiving. We hold production capacity for event work through the summer, quote in 2 hours, and can take a brief on Monday to wrapped vehicles by Friday. Winter activations — holiday campaigns, auto show season at McCormick Place — run on the same clock indoors.
The Activation Résumé: 15 Boat Campaigns a Season
Every Lake Michigan boating season, CFW runs roughly 15 sponsor activations on boat wraps alone — liquor brands own the lakefront in summer. The recent roster: 1800 Tequila, Patrón Tequila, Cutwater, Señorita Margaritas, Sunny D, and a Budweiser St. Patrick's Day boat wrap timed to the river dyeing. On land, our event graphics have run at Lollapalooza, Navy Pier, and McCormick Place, and the 4 Aces golf activation at Bolingbrook Golf Club — the Arthur Hills championship course — is the SUV in the photo at the top of this page.
The exit is measured too: CFW has performed 500+ wrap removals. Removal runs 1–6 hours per vehicle depending on three variables — the film that was originally installed, how long it has been on the vehicle, and sun exposure. Cheap film baked through two summers takes six hours and a heat gun; the removable cast we install for events pulls in one.

Mini Case: The Rivian R2S Rollout
When Rivian rolled out the R2S, the pre-production fleet came to CFW — the same relationship behind our 600+ Rivian installs as Illinois' largest Rivian wrap installer. The program: 116 pre-production R2S vehicles wrapped in 21 days — a pace of five and a half vehicles a day, sustained for three weeks. It covered every job a launch demands from one crew: full-print launch art wraps for reveal vehicles, engineering camouflage wraps — the dot-pattern disguise that keeps body lines unreadable in spy photos while prototypes test on public roads — and the Rivian Adventure Department (RAD) partner livery, sponsor marks placed to spec. All of it installed inside Rivian's own facility, on the automaker's schedule, on vehicles that did not officially exist yet.
A vehicle launch is the purest form of activation work: the wrap IS the campaign, confidentiality is contractual, and every panel gets photographed by the world's press. Full program detail in the Rivian case study.

Event Wrap FAQs
How do you quote an event wrap?
From the event date, vehicle list, and coverage level — full wrap, partial, or spot graphics. Send what you have and a written quote comes back in 2 hours, with install and clean removal itemized on the same work order.
Will a short-term wrap damage the paint or a leased vehicle?
No. Event wraps use removable cast vinyl with low-tack adhesive systems chosen for a clean exit — no adhesive ghosting, no paint pull. Leased vehicles, rentals, and employee cars are routinely wrapped and returned to stock condition.
How fast can you wrap vehicles for an activation?
Brief on Monday, wrapped by Friday is a normal week. Quotes come back in 2 hours, and we hold summer production capacity for event work. Call (312) 597-1286 with the event date and vehicle count for a straight answer on your timeline.
How long can a short-term wrap stay on?
The films we spec are rated for 30–180 day campaigns. If the activation extends, the wrap holds; when it ends, removal is already scheduled on your work order so the campaign ends on the calendar.
Can you handle multi-vehicle sponsor fleets for festivals?
Yes — that is the core of what we do. Multi-vehicle activations get matching design across every vehicle and staged installs around your event schedule, quoted as one program.
Do you make the event graphics beyond the vehicles?
Yes: tent and canopy graphics, barricade covers, window splashes, wall wraps for pop-ups, and banner walls — printed on the same HP Latex line as the wraps so the whole activation matches.
How long does wrap removal take after an event?
One to six hours per vehicle across the 500+ removals CFW has performed. Three variables set it: the film originally installed, how long it has been on the vehicle, and sun exposure. The removable cast vinyl we spec for events sits at the fast end; bargain film baked through two summers sits at the slow end.
What brands and events has CFW wrapped for?
Recent activation work includes 1800 Tequila, Patrón Tequila, Cutwater, Señorita Margaritas, Sunny D, and a Budweiser St. Patrick's Day boat wrap, plus programs at Lollapalooza, Navy Pier, McCormick Place, and the 4 Aces golf activation at Bolingbrook Golf Club — roughly 15 sponsor boat-wrap campaigns run every Lake Michigan boating season.
Did CFW wrap the Rivian R2S launch fleet?
Yes — 116 pre-production R2S vehicles wrapped in 21 days inside Rivian's facility: full-print launch art wraps for reveal vehicles, dot-pattern engineering camouflage for road-test prototypes, and the Rivian Adventure Department partner livery. The program builds on 600+ Rivian installs as Illinois' largest Rivian wrap installer.
