What vinyl material do you use?
We use only Avery Dennison MPI 1105 and 3M IJ180-CV3 premium cast vinyl — never calendered. Cast vinyl is thinner, more conformable to curves and rivets, and rated 5–7 years outdoor. See our Materials Guide for detailed specs.
What is the difference between cast and calendered vinyl?
Cast vinyl is poured into a mold and slowly cured, producing a thin, flexible, dimensionally stable film that lasts 5–7 years. Calendered vinyl is pressed through rollers — it is thicker, less conformable, and only lasts 2–3 years before shrinking and cracking. We exclusively use cast vinyl because it handles Chicago's -20°F to 100°F temperature range without lifting at panel edges.
What finishes are available for color change wraps?

Do you use laminate over the printed vinyl?
Yes. Every printed wrap receives a UV-protective over-laminate (Avery Dennison DOL 1460z or equivalent) that shields the graphics from UV fading, scratches, and chemicals. This extends the life of printed wraps by 2–3 additional years.

What is the wrap process from start to finish?
The full process takes 10–15 business days: (1) You request an estimate — we respond within 2 hours. (2) We schedule a vehicle assessment or use your photos. (3) Our design team creates a custom mockup within 48 hours. (4) You approve the design (revision rounds included). (5) We print on HP Latex printers and laminate (24–48 hours). (6) We pick up your vehicle, install the wrap, and deliver it back. Total turnaround from design approval to delivery is typically 5–7 business days.
How long does installation take?
Sedans and SUVs: 1 day. Cargo vans: 1–2 business days. Sprinter vans: 2–3 days. Box trucks 16–22 ft: 2–3 days. Box trucks 24–26 ft: 3–4 days. Semi trailers: 4–6 days. Fleet orders are staggered so you never lose more than one or two vehicles at a time.
Do I need to prepare my vehicle before installation?
The vehicle should be clean — a standard car wash is sufficient. We do a full surface prep (cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, clay bar treatment for contamination) at our shop before wrapping. Remove any aftermarket accessories, bike racks, or ladder racks if possible.
Can you rush a wrap job?

Do you design the wrap graphics?

Paint Protection & Removal
Will a wrap damage my vehicle's paint?

Can a wrap be removed?

Does the wrap protect against scratches and rock chips?
Vinyl wrap provides a sacrificial layer that absorbs minor scratches, rock chips, and road debris that would otherwise damage paint. It is not as thick as paint protection film (PPF/clear bra) but offers meaningful everyday protection, especially for fleet vehicles in commercial use.
Can you wrap a vehicle with existing paint damage?
Minor imperfections (small scratches, light oxidation) can usually be wrapped over. Deep scratches, rust spots, peeling clear coat, or body damage should be repaired before wrapping — the vinyl conforms to the surface and will telegraph any significant defects. We assess condition during vehicle intake.

What warranty do you offer?

How do I maintain my wrap to maximize lifespan?

Do wraps void my vehicle manufacturer warranty?
No. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents manufacturers from voiding a warranty due to aftermarket modifications unless they can prove the modification caused the defect. We have wrapped 600+ Rivians and hundreds of Teslas with zero warranty issues. Vinyl wraps have zero effect on EV battery, charging, range, or electrical systems.
Can I wrap a leased vehicle?

Do you wrap Sprinter vans?
Yes — we wrap every Mercedes Sprinter configuration: 144" and 170" wheelbase, standard roof, high roof, and super high roof. Sprinter wraps start at $3,500 for a full wrap. Do you wrap food trucks?
Yes — food truck wraps are one of our specialties. We wrap all food truck types: step vans, Freightliner MT45/MT55, Workhorse P30, custom fabricated trucks, and trailers. Food truck wraps require extra attention to generator vents, service windows, and propane cutouts — our installers are experienced with all of these. Pricing varies by size; most food truck wraps range $3,500–$8,000.
Can you wrap a vehicle with rust?
It depends on the severity. Surface rust that has been treated and primed can be wrapped, but active rust, bubbling, or structural corrosion cannot. Vinyl does not adhere properly to compromised surfaces and will lift quickly. We do a paint condition inspection before every install. If there is rust, we will tell you honestly and recommend body repair before wrapping. We would rather lose a job than produce a wrap that fails early.
Materials & Quality
What is the difference between Avery Dennison and 3M vinyl?
Both are premium cast vinyl films rated for 5–7 years outdoor use. Avery Dennison MPI 1105 is our preferred film — it has excellent conformability on complex curves and rivets, and uses EZ RS (Easy Apply Removable Adhesive) for cleaner removal. 3M IJ180-CV3 is equally durable and is the standard specification for many fleet programs and government accounts. Both films are covered by manufacturer warranties and backed by our 2-year workmanship warranty. We never use calendered vinyl — it shrinks, lifts, and fails within 1–2 years.
Can you match Pantone colors exactly?
Yes — we offer Pantone color matching on all printed wraps. Our HP Latex printers are calibrated to hit Pantone specifications accurately. For solid color change wraps, Avery Dennison and 3M both publish their vinyl color libraries with corresponding Pantone references so you can select the closest solid film match. For brand-critical fleet programs, we provide a physical swatch approval before full production.
How long does a color change wrap last?
A color change wrap using Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film or 3M 2080 series cast vinyl is rated for 5 years on horizontal surfaces and 7 years on vertical surfaces. In practice, wraps maintained with hand washing and kept out of automated brush car washes regularly last 6–7 years in Chicago's climate. The 2-year workmanship warranty covers any installation defects — lifting, bubbling, peeling edges — for the first two years.

Can I see my design before installation?
Yes — always. We produce a full digital mockup on your exact vehicle template before printing anything. You review the design, request revisions, and give written approval before we go to print. We do not start production until you are 100% satisfied. Unlimited revisions are included in every project. For fleet programs, we produce a proof on one vehicle before wrapping the entire fleet.
What happens if my wrap gets damaged?
Localized damage — door dings, scrapes, tears — can be repaired with patch sections of matching vinyl. It will not be invisible up close, but it will look clean from a normal viewing distance. For commercial fleet vehicles, minor repairs are a normal part of ownership. Major damage from accidents may require a full panel re-wrap or full replacement depending on the extent. Call us with photos and we will give you an honest repair estimate. Our 2-year warranty covers installation defects but not collision or road damage.
Do you offer payment plans for fleet wraps?
Yes — for fleet programs (3+ vehicles) we offer phased billing. You can phase installs across multiple billing cycles to spread the cost. What is the difference between a full wrap and a partial wrap?
A full wrap covers the entire painted surface of the vehicle — all four sides, hood, roof, and rear. A partial wrap covers specific high-visibility zones: typically both sides, the rear, or the rear three-quarters. Partial wraps deliver 60–80% of the visual impact of a full wrap at 40–60% of the cost. They are a smart choice when budget is a constraint or when the vehicle already has a solid base color that can be incorporated into the design.
