You find a wrap shop. They design something great for your van — logo, colors, layout, the whole thing. You approve it. They install it. Looks sharp. You're happy.

Six months later you need a second van wrapped. You call them. They're booked out three weeks and they can't fit you in tomorrow. Or maybe the price went up. Or the communication got slow. Whatever it is — you decide to shop around.

Then you find out: they own the art. You paid for the design, but the files belong to the shop. Take your business elsewhere and you're starting from scratch — new designer, new fee, new timeline — just to recreate something you already paid for.

Why most shops hold the files

It's leverage. If leaving costs you a redesign, most people won't leave. It's a retention strategy built on friction, not quality. We've heard it from clients who came to us after — some had been paying above-market rates for years because they felt stuck.
